38th International Bamboo Organ Festival

Two months ago the 38th International Bamboo Organ Festival was held in Las Pinas City, Philippines at St. Joseph Parish Church. It is the longest running international music festival in the Philippines after its inaugural concert in May 5, 1975 from a restoration work at Bonn, Germany.

                                                     Fr. Diego Cera (Spanish) is an Augustinian Recollect, he is the builder
                                                                                      of the church and the organ.

The schedule of the program was February 21-27, 2013. Aside from classical music,  the festival also has a concert with less serious music, entitled "Concert under the trees"

This year's featured artists was Las Pinas Boys Choir, UP Education Chorale with the Manila Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Eudenice Palaruan, Sopranos: Sherla Najera, Stefanie Quintin, Countertenors: Ervin Lumauag, Joel Aquino, Mark Abesia, baritone, popular artists: Jamie Rivera,Trinna Alcantara and Deep Projek, and organists: Peter Van de Velde( Belgium), Dr. Johann Trummer (Austria), Armando Salarza (titular organist of the Bamboo Organ).
